DAP Glazing

CRL Dap '33' Glazing Compound is smooth and flexible, and comes ready to use for face glazing wood and metal window frames.

Its adhesion to both glass and sash is excellent, and forms a dependable air-and watertight seal that resists sagging, shrinking, chalking and cracking. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of frost. Wood sash that is not primed or painted must be primed first with an oil based primer and allowed to dry. When re-glazing, remove all old putty and bedding by using the following tools: 4500, PR9000, AK40. If any separation has occurred in glazing, mix entire contents of container until uniform. Do not thin glazing. If necessary, place glazing in hands and roll in to coils to warm and soften. Smooth glazing to an angle that sheets water with a putty knife; 2BE118, 4701, 2S114. Typical dry time before painting is one to two weeks depending on temperature and humidity. Putty must be painted after it has skinned over and attained a firm set. For best results, use a high quality oil-based paint, or if using a latex paint, prime first with a high quality oil based primer. Available in five container sizes.
Do not thin glazing. Do not apply when air or sash temperatures are below 40 degrees F (4 degrees C). Do not use on plastic windowpanes, insulating glass units with an organic seal, any windowpane over 48 inches (1,219 millimeters) in length, or metal sash with rabbets over 1-1/4 inch (32 millimeters) wide. Also not recommended for stained/leaded glass projects. Clean tools immediately after use with mineral spirits. Be sure container lid is closed and tightly sealed. Store in a cool, dry place. Check can label and Specification Data Sheet for additional limitations. The script is installed correctly.
